None of my family was connected to Chatterley Whitfield. My interest in the site is because of the plans for the regeneration and future prosperity of the area. I feel that our industrial heritage must not be forgotten and I am very keen to establish the site as a memorial for all the miners who were killed there and for all who suffered from industrial diseases.

I am also a member of Stoke on Trent College Coal Mining Research Group.
